When you take the time to make something by hand, you are telling the world the story of you.
My story begins with the beauty of the natural world. Color…texture…size…and placement in the ecosystem all stir my imagination.
I am not a realist; there is no effort to replicate nature, but to interpret it in my chosen medium of fiber. I am drawn to abstract art which evokes feelings leaving each person to have a unique experience.
Drawing and painting are often the first steps. Something in one of these will speak to me and words are added. The story has begun.
Prepping the wool to spin yarn is next. Choosing colors, textures as well as how I want the yarn to look all play a part in bringing the story to life.
Then, and only then, do I make yarn.
I hope that my work speaks to you.
What story is it telling you?
